Review: PAI Skincare

It isn’t often I do a review of a product – usually laziness kicks in and I can’t be bothered but I thought I would do one on this new range of skincare I have found. Simply because they are good. I can’t actually remember how I found them, I either googled organic skincare or I saw a youtube video where someone might have mentioned them.

The skincare range in question is called PAI Skincare. They are a certified organic (by the Soil Association), vegan, chemical free and cruelty free products. For more information about them you can visit their website here (http://www.paiskincare.com/) (laziness kicks in here)

So when I first wanted to try them, I was a bit sceptical as I couldn’t find any reviews on the website seeing if it was safe or if anyone else had purchased from them. (I always google any websites I am about to purchase from as just having an SSL certificate isn’t enough for me). I decided to go ahead and buy from them as a few people had mentioned them before (and I can also verify that the website is completely safe).

I bought the sample set, which cost £1 plus p+p which is £3.50 so £4.50 in total. The products included were:

X1 Moisturiser cream Avocado & Jojoba – Dry / Normal
X1 Moisturiser cream Macadamia & Rose – Mature & Very Dry
X1 Kukui & Jojoba Skin Brightening Exfoliator
X2 Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

PAI Samples

Each are 5ml in size. I was very happy as my order was processed and dispatched in one day and I received the products the following day.

Packaging – I was very happy that the sample sizes were a good amount. I’ve received samples before where either – you can’t get the product out of the sample bottle and you are there banging away at it trying to get it out on your hand, hurting your hand in the process or there is hardly anything in the sample so you try it once and that’s it. No problem here, it says the samples should last for 2-3 days. Mine lasted over a week.

PAI: Avocado & Jojob a& Macadamia & Rose Moisturiser cream

Avocado & Jojoba Moisturiser cream

There is no doubt, the Avocado & Jojoba cream smells delicious. It has a lovely light texture but when you put it on your skin it feels very refreshing and is not greasy at all. Your skin does feel hydrated and the feeling does last a long time on the skin. I have dry skin so I could probably use this cream in the summer but to be honest I would rather stick with the second cream.

Macadamia & Rose Moisturiser cream

This doesn’t have a nice scent like the Avocado & Jojoba but it made up for it by being so damn moisturising. This is quite a rich cream so if you have dry skin like me, it’s great. If your skin type is normal then I wouldn’t go with this cream as might be a bit too thick. This is my favourite cream, for me it’s non greasy, absorbed right into my skin and it also lasts! I have had so many creams, which are thick but after 5mins they have absorbed into the skin and left my skin feeling dry after 10mins. I have been using this more than the Avocado & Jojoba because I find this helps my skin more. It also helped to get rid of this horrible dry patch I had on my nose!

PAI: Kukui & Jojoba Skin Brightening Exfoliator

Kukui & Jojoba Skin Brightening Exfoliator

A very light Exfoliator. It smells lovely!! This is something that I would use every day. The beads are very fine, which help to exfoliate but aren’t harsh like some exfoliators are. I found it washed away easily and I didn’t have to scrub away at my face to remove it like with some exfoliators I have tried. If you have sensitive skin then this would be a great exfoliator for you. I used this everyday and then just once a week used my brown sugar /olive oil exfoliator recipe.

PAI: Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

Lovely cleanser. Didn’t have much of a scent but when I washed it off it left my skin feeling so hydrated. Because my skin is so dry, I have to be careful with cleansers that they don’t dry my skin out. Thankfully, this didn’t do it. I put this onto my skin and then removed it with my muslin cloth. It did wash off my makeup as well, which was good because I was a bit unsure if it would since it feels very light on the skin. For my eye makeup, I put some on my eye and then removed with a cotton pad. It’s very gentle, and it removes easily, it doesn’t foam though.

In conclusion, I was very happy with my samples I bought from PAI skincare. In fact I was so happy, I ended up buying the full size products of the Macadamia & Rose, Kukui & Jojoba Skin Brightening Exfoliator and Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser. I also purchased the Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil Blend and Lotus & Orange Blossom BioAffinity Toner (I also bought the muslin cloths). Once I have used the latter products, I will do an updated review.

Anyway, PAI skincare can range from £19 to £30 so it’s not cheap but personally since its chemical free, hasn’t irritated or dried out my skin I am okay to pay this but I can understand for some people it might be too expensive.

They also do body products and other products, such as eye and lip products. They also ship to quite a lot of countries as well.

Also sorry for the poor quality images, they were taken from my iPhone 3S.

EDIT: I bought these (full size) products from the website on Easter Monday, they were dispatched Tuesday and came today Wednesday. They are waiting for me at the post office to collect! Since it was free delivery for £30+ how quick is that?? And with Royal Mail 2nd class! Can’t wait to go and get them!!

Disclaimer: I just want to make it clear that this is not an advertisement for the company. I have not been contacted or paid by the company to do this review. I bought the products with my own money and since I liked the products so much I decided to review them.

From the dark ages

A new blog post arrives!   :drunk: :couple:

Wow it has been ages hasn’t it. I can’t believe I haven’t been on my blog since August 2011!

Oh, well now that things are calming down, I can get back into blogging again. It’s also great, I can use my iPad to blog as well, which makes it a lot easier since I don’t need to sit down and boot up the laptop – not that it takes ages to load but oh well.

So Christmas and New Year have come and gone and it’s back to work and the simple routine of wakeup – work – sleep – wake up. With food and twitter thrown in there somewhere.
I for once actually had a relaxing Christmas then again it was only my parents and me as my sister was with her in-laws. It was nice though, no panicking, no having to wait on other people, no people saying oh I don’t want this or I don’t want to eat now. Nope it was very nice.

Loved all my Christmas presents as well! My dad gave me an iPad, my mum gave me the traditional new Pyjamas, and she got me this amazing Hello Kitty box set. I had to leave it at my parents home though as it didn’t fit into my bag. My sis and brother in law gave me a perfume set, and a Hello Kitty mug and I got this lovely shawl from my sister’s in laws. :cute:

I love my new iPad, I am still getting the hang of it but I love it! I need to download a few more apps and subscribe to a few more things but really, I so love it. <3 (I have no heart smiley!!)

Over New years, my sister told me of a Sky TV series based on a series of books – The song of Fire and Ice (Game of thrones). I watched the series first (as usually I find that the TV adaption’s are never as good as the books) and I loved it! I am currently on book 3 and it’s amazing. I can’t believe I never heard of it before. Does anyone else have any good recommendations? I am really trying to get back into the habit of reading a good series – so far I’ve only been reading Chick Lit (hey, it’s fantastic) but I want to read other things now as well. So any recommendations would be great! :cute:

Oh yes, new layout is up. Let me know if there are any viewing problems

Oh which also reminds me, it seems I had a problem with my database which was running Enth3 – it crashed! Which is strange as none of my other databases had this problem. Anyway, I managed to fix it, which is good. I asked Hostgator if they could see any reason as to why it crashed but they couldn’t. Strange. :saywha: (error was something like error executing query and I couldn’t log into my enth3 admin page)
