From the dark ages

A new blog post arrives!   :drunk: :couple:

Wow it has been ages hasn’t it. I can’t believe I haven’t been on my blog since August 2011!

Oh, well now that things are calming down, I can get back into blogging again. It’s also great, I can use my iPad to blog as well, which makes it a lot easier since I don’t need to sit down and boot up the laptop – not that it takes ages to load but oh well.

So Christmas and New Year have come and gone and it’s back to work and the simple routine of wakeup – work – sleep – wake up. With food and twitter thrown in there somewhere.
I for once actually had a relaxing Christmas then again it was only my parents and me as my sister was with her in-laws. It was nice though, no panicking, no having to wait on other people, no people saying oh I don’t want this or I don’t want to eat now. Nope it was very nice.

Loved all my Christmas presents as well! My dad gave me an iPad, my mum gave me the traditional new Pyjamas, and she got me this amazing Hello Kitty box set. I had to leave it at my parents home though as it didn’t fit into my bag. My sis and brother in law gave me a perfume set, and a Hello Kitty mug and I got this lovely shawl from my sister’s in laws. :cute:

I love my new iPad, I am still getting the hang of it but I love it! I need to download a few more apps and subscribe to a few more things but really, I so love it. <3 (I have no heart smiley!!)

Over New years, my sister told me of a Sky TV series based on a series of books – The song of Fire and Ice (Game of thrones). I watched the series first (as usually I find that the TV adaption’s are never as good as the books) and I loved it! I am currently on book 3 and it’s amazing. I can’t believe I never heard of it before. Does anyone else have any good recommendations? I am really trying to get back into the habit of reading a good series – so far I’ve only been reading Chick Lit (hey, it’s fantastic) but I want to read other things now as well. So any recommendations would be great! :cute:

Oh yes, new layout is up. Let me know if there are any viewing problems

Oh which also reminds me, it seems I had a problem with my database which was running Enth3 – it crashed! Which is strange as none of my other databases had this problem. Anyway, I managed to fix it, which is good. I asked Hostgator if they could see any reason as to why it crashed but they couldn’t. Strange. :saywha: (error was something like error executing query and I couldn’t log into my enth3 admin page)

OMG YAY UPDATE AND STUFF ^o^

Congrats on a non-stressful Christmas and sweet bevy of gifts (iPad ftw) :) New layout looks very spiffy, by the way. (How in the world do you blog on something without a physical keyboard, though? I find that my fingers are way too fat to type on virtual keyboards–I gotta have physical keys to punch down, otherwise I type gibberish. LOL)

Though I haven’t read any of the books, I’ve heard that the Hunger Games series is pretty good YA fiction. (It’s funny, the movie Hunger Games was actually partially filmed near my hometown. Guess all the dilapidated rundown retail/farming buildings made a good backdrop. XD)

Welcome back girl! <3 I'm glad you had a good end of 2011 without any hubbub. I must say, I like not having a lot of relatives around or going to parties around Christmas time. It becomes too much. :P Sounds like you got some lovely gifts though. My mum asked if I liked Hello Kitty because her friend was going to Japan and could get anything Hello Kitty. Unfortunately I think I've grown out of it. D:

I think I have heard of the Game of Thrones. I read a lot and I'm just getting back into reading after not reading for a long time so I think I can recommend some books – try some Bryce Courtenay, he writes beautiful books, as does Cecelia Ahern and Rosie Thomas. If you're into science fiction and fantasy, try Brent Weeks or Douglas Adams. ^_^

A happy belated new year to you! I’m glad that the holidays let you relax and get out of your normal routines.

My roommate and her boyfriend loved Game of Thrones, blood, gore, and all. I think a while ago, my roommate recommended that I read the series (or trilogy?) the Wheel of Time. I never got around to reading it, but you might like it.

I think that your database broke a bit at one point when the server was handling too many things at once. Sometimes things like that happen in computers when too many things are going on at once. I don’t really know how to explain it, but sometimes sites just don’t work for a while, and then problems fix themselves because of all the details that go into setting up and configuring a server.

Yes, Congrats on a non-stressful/relaxing Christmas. Happy New Year. I’m glad you are back around. Yes, mobile blogging does make life easier. Congrats on the iPad.
